Agios Fokas in Paros is one of the most picturesque churches on the island. It is situated on the north entrance of Parikia Bay. Because of its location, the church is among number one choices for weddings and photography. Therefore it is one of the recommended places to visit, just for few minutes. The spot on which Agios Fokas is built features amazing view of Parikia, the capital of Paros Island. From here you will see also two famous beaches, Marcello and Krios. The view of ships entering the bay is quite amazing as well.
Literally few steps away from the church, there is a small sandy beach. Of course it doesn’t have any infrastructure, as it is just few meters long. It is rarely visited by tourist and therefore, if you decide to go there, you will have the beach to your disposal. Just don’t forget to take with you basic supplies like water and snacks. If you have your own umbrella, you should take it with in order to be protected by the sun. Of course, there are few trees offering natural chade.
Although the church is not considered as an attraction of Paros, it is one of our suggestions. That is because Marcello beach and Krios beach are nearby. Therefore, you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing there and afterwards, you can visit Agios Fokas. It is just 5 minutes away by car. You should know that you will not reach the church by bus, as is no schedule here.
If you are staying in the capital of Paros, you should know that the distance between Parikia and the church is 5 km. Distance from Naoussa is about 14 km. Agios Fokas is an enjoyable place to take a few photos and light a candle inside the church.
